I got my air (rev A) back from repair yesterday. I have just noticed the keyboard backlight doesn't seem to be working. I have tried lab tick (didn't use it before), and can't get that to do anything either.

At the repair they replaced:

SVC, DISPLAY CLASHELL Part 661-4590
PCBA, MLB, 1.8GHZ Part 661-4644

I don't know if this problem is related to the repair or not. Anything I can try before I book it back in with Apple? :-(

Did they replace the whole upper lid assembly? Maybe if they did it has a faulty ambient sensor?

I believe they did, but I can put my finger over the sensor and the screen dims. Just the keyboard doesn't light up!

Sorry if you already know this and the light is not connected.

But have you tried turning the light up? It may just be turned down. Hit the brighten key a few times.

I remember not knowing with my first MBP.

Just a thought. Sorry if you already know this.

Yes, I have tried to turn it up.. oh well, back to the apple store on Saturday!
