Air Display

If I purchase Air Display on my iPad for $9.99 - am I required to purchase the Mac version from the Mac App Store for $19.99 in order to use my iPad as a second display?

When Lion is released, will it be bringing a feature like Air Display so that you can screen share to your iPad as a second display for free? If so, it wouldn't make sense to purchase Air Display now.

No, the version of Air Display on the Mac app store is for Mac to Mac. If you buy the iPad version, all you then need to do is download the free OS X driver for it and you're in business.
