Something I noticed and that has been bugging me for quite some time. Let's say I want to watch Flash videos on my MBA on YouTube (I do have Click2Plugin installed, but html player loads too slowly sometimes and I'd rather watch the Flash version).

Why is it that when watching YouTube in "720P and above" resolutions Safari and Firefox cannot "buffer" the video quickly enough for me to watch the video without it stopping to buffer more. **However, Chrome seems to buffer the videos fine.

Second (and this is stranger to me) why is it that I can watch these same videos on a desktop computer running, lets say an old Core 2 Duo processor with 5400 rpm hard drive and it doesn't matter which browser I use. All three browsers load 720 & 1080P videos perfectly. **Assuming that we are both hard lined into a 30Mbps high speed connection.

Insights appreciated...

Edit: Not that I think a simple (minor security update) would solve anything I noticed I was running Flash version 10.3.181.__

So naturally I updated to 10.3.183.5 > just for fun I loaded videos I know do NOT buffer properly in Safari and Firefox (Chrome is ok) to see if they'd play. And voila...1080P video buffers as quickly as in Chrome. Firefox still sucks, but that's two out of three working properly now. I feel lucky. I still can't figure out why its working all of a sudden. Cross my fingers. Hope it stays that way.
