Hi All,

I have a MacBook Air M2 and a Dell D6000 dock.

I am trying to use 3 external monitors however I can only get 2 of them to work. As soon as I plug in the 3rd monitor the HDMI monitor turns off.

Anyone managed to get this to work?

Looks like the D6000 does have DisplayLink, which explains why you can get 2 working (the MacBook Air only supports 1 external). The manual doesn’t specify but I’m guessing that the DisplayLink hardware is only for one display, which is why you can’t do 3 (you get one driven by the Mac and one by the DisplayLink).

I can actually use the MacBook screen as a 3rd screen without problems so I believe the displaylink in the D6000 is powering both externals. There's a video on YouTube suggesting the D6000 has 2 modules inside and you need to activate the Displaylink ultimate mode to get the 3rd screen working but I can't seem to figure this out.

the macbook screen is always usable, and can't be disabled to use an external instead.

ok thanks. Ive bought a Plugable triple monitor dock, it arrives tomorrow. If it works I'll post here so others can have a solution too!

thanks for the replies!

Good news, the plugable triple monitor dock works perfectly. 3 external screens all working and the MacBook screen can be used as a 4th. Link for dock - Plugable 4K USB C Docking Station Triple Monitor with 100W Power Delivery, USB C Dock for Thunderbolt 3/4, and USB-C Windows and Mac (3x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort, 1x USB-C, 4x USB 3.0, SD Card Reader) https://amzn.eu/d/8zuC2Gx
