I get very tired of looking at that big black rectangular panel advertising Air Play that comes up when I first switch on Apple TV or when a screen saver comes on. It's fine for newbies but completely withouit use for the rest of us. It's ugly, it's intrusive, and I've been using Air Play for years so I certainly don't need the advice . I've looked around the Settings options but haven't found a way to get rid of the damned thing. Does anybody have some advice?

[doublepost=1561424424][/doublepost]Sounds like you have conference room display enable. Not sure if that’s the official name but it’s under airplay settings. Just disable and you should be good to go.

Thanks, that worked a treat! I've never visited this panel of Settings, so Apple must ship the Apple TV with it switched on for the benefit of noobs. Fine, that's understandable but they ought to give non-noobs advice on how to switch it off.
