I hate to even put a screen protector on my Air because I know how scratch resistant it is, I'm more worried about the oleophobic coating coming off over time. Maybe that's not a thing anymore these days?

At any rate, I've tried various screen protectors from brands that I have known and trusted for many years, like ESR and Spiegen. What I'm noticing this time around is they all have sharp edges. Not like cut your fingers sharp, but you definitely feel them when you swipe up and your thumb catches that edge. I understand that if you have a case with a lip that goes all the way around that's not so much an issue, but mine has an opening there. I seem to recall with my other phones/screen protectors, the edges were more rounded off.

Does anybody here have an Air screen protector they're happy with that actually has rounded edges?

Flolab is the only company I use these days but Dbrand was pretty decent as well. Don’t have any for the new models but they were pretty rounded for the 16 series.

I went with the dBrand on my AIR. It's really good on the edges you can't feel it at all. Only issue is it has scratched a bit easier that I anticipated. I'm going no case so I have been putting it face down a lot, but it had light micro scratched day 1, just from putting it on my desk.

I know exactly what you are talking about and you need a screen protector with 3d curved edges. A brand that was recommended to me on here and they said worked well for them is UltraGlass.

What is the point of an oleophobic coating if there's another layer of (worse) glass on top of it?

Maybe it would be worth using the phone, and if you ever have an issue with the oleophobic coating, applying a screen protector at that time?

Thanks!

I'll check it out, thanks!

You make a good point though I do feel like the resale value would be higher with a more pristine screen.

Flolab has been good usually, though their stuff is pricey. Their provided installation stuff is top notch though. One thing to look out for is that the edges are not actually curved to match the glass, so they collect dust.
