I have this setup:
1) Apple TV 2
2) Iphone 4
3) A lousy eeePC used solely as a iTunes machine (it works).
4) Airport Extreme with an USB disk.
In the USB disk there is all my iTunes Library, movies included.
With iTunes on, obviously, no problem seeing my movies on aTV but, as we all know, without it you cannot see anything because the aTV cannot see a shared disk (or anything for the matter).
There are many apps for iPhone which let me browse my shared disk and many let me even see the movies (on my iPhone) even in non iTunes standards.
Is there any app that let me browse the shared disk which use the standard iPhone movie player (my movies are all iTunes compliant and it's a lot faster so) and that is AIRPLAY ENABLED.
Because I tried many, but nothing worked fine....there are apps that concentrate on reading mkv or divx (but no airplay or USB shares), apps that perfectly show my files in USB shares, but no movie playing, only copying, and so on...
I'm searching for someting like Goodreader (which works but cannot browse any SMB shares, only internet things).
With this setup (aTV-shared disk-iPhone-Airplay) I could use my aTV without turning on the iTunes machine.
Any ideas?
I'm probably missing somehting big, because I find strange that nobody thinked about it (more strange than Apple such castrating the aTV2 ).
