Hi all,
I've had a search through previous threads and can't find one that solves my problem, though I dare say it exists somewhere.
I have a new Airport Extreme and a 120GB Western Digital external HD that is plugged directly into the unit (no USB hub). The APE is running 5.3.1 firmware and my MacBook is running Leopard which is entirely up to date. The HD is formatted as OS X Extended (journaled). When I plug the HD into the APE the disk shows up in finder under 'shared' and, when I click on that, the 'untitled' sharepoint shows up as a folder, however when I double click on 'untitled' I am taken to a folder called 'untitled' where I am unable to do anything (i.e. create folders, etc) and the path in finder disappears. Time Machine cannot find this HD either.
I have tried creating a folder on the HD by plugging it into my MacBook directly via USB. I called this folder 'root' and it was successfully created, however it does not show up when the HD is connected to the APE.
I'm not quite sure what to do at this point, so any help that anyone can offer would be appreciated.
