Hi,

I really need some advice on setting up my home network.

What I want to have at the end of this ordeal is: One drive for streaming video and housing all my media files, and another drive to deal with Time Machine Backups.

Right now, I have an Airport extreme on the top level of my house, with the modem a printer attached to it.

Then on the second level of my house, I have a 500gb Time Capsule, extending the network.

I am looking to purchase an external hard drive (1TB or more), to attach to the Time Capsule.

So, here are my questions....

1) Does it matter which brand/what type of 1TB disk I buy? (e.g. differences between Western Digital drives like, "Essential" or "MyBook"....)

2) Which would be better for watching video off of and which would be better for backing up with time machine?

3) Is there any real reason to be using RAID1?

4) Concerning internet speed improvements, are there any changes I could make to the setup?

Thanks for the help!!!
