I've been using a Seagate external hard drive for Time Machine backups of my MacBook Pro for a couple months now. I wanted a way to do perform the backups without having to do anything. I wanted it to do things by itself automatically without me having to plug in the hard drive. At the same time though, I wanted a way to have it wirelessly backup while at home, but when I go on trips or vacation, I can simply unplug the hard drive and take it with me to use as a USB again. I decided to buy an AirPort Extreme base station so I could plug in at home and unplug for trips like I wanted to. Unfortunately for some reason, it seems like when I plug the hard drive into my Extreme it almost seems to think it's a different disk. Either that or it gives me an error.

Could someone please walk me through with the basics of what I need to do to get this done the way I was planning to use it.
