Airdrop declined by mac air

hey guys, i have just bought a new macbook air.
i have a mac mini which I'm selling, so just wanted to send a few things over wifi to my mac air.

i have airdrop open on both macs, seeing each other fine. when i tried dragging my photos over it said the mac air declined. although nothing popped up on my air to accept?

is there a maximum transfer limit size?

Looks like 4GB is about the limit.
