AirDrop doesn't connect between my iPhone and mac

When I open my AirDrop in my Finder I don't see any options to change my settings to be visible to everyone like in the iPhone. I just can't get it to work at all, and yes, my MacBook does support it.

This is how my AirDrop folder looks:

Under 'AirDrop lets you share instantly with people nearby...' there should be other options to set my visibility, but it's not there. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

OS X fully up-to-date? 10.11.5? iOS fully up-to-date?

Does the issue persist after restarting OS X with 'reopen windows when logging back in' unticked? Could try a PRAM reset too?

OS X fully up-to-date, yes, 10.11.5. iOS is on 9.3.

AirDrop on my MBPr stopped working after the OSX update before the last one. It can't see any of my iPads or phone. And yes, I have everything set correctly. I used to use it daily to get writing from iPads to MacBook.

AirDrop is crap, or in short AirCrap ... it never works when you need it !!! The only way to try and correct an AirCrap problem is to reboot both devices and, if possible, the router.
