AirDrop doesn't work between iPad rmini and iPhone 6

Trying to send pics between my two devices but neither shows up in airdrop.airdrop set to everyone wifi bt on etc etc

I've tried this between my iPhone 6 Plus and my iPhone 5 and it doesn't work either...

Has airdrop worked for you before? Has anyone gotten a 6 to work?

I have airdropped pics from my 5s to my 6 plus. I have also done it from my iPad mini to my 6 plus. It's working fine for me.

I've tried this between my iPhone 6 Plus and my iPhone 5 and it doesn't work either...

Hey I got it to work!

I signed out of icloud on my ipad, made a new icloud account and added that email address to a contact on both devices. Then it worked! But that's not a good solution so I signed back out of the temporary icloud account and back into my main one and now all of a sudden, it was working the way it was supposed to originally

Well that's goofy.

I'm glad it worked for you but i have no idea why airdrop would have any association with iCloud. I'm starting to feel like iOS 8.0 is iOS 7.0 all over again.

I've been having trouble with airdrop between my wife's 5S and my 6. I've about given up. Maybe I'll try signing in and out of iCloud.
