  • Update iOS to latest. This problem may be some bugs coming with the iOS operating system you cannot fix. So just wait for the new iOS to fix it.
  • Turn off and then turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Check your network, turn off your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and then turn them on.
  • Force restart your devices. Press and release the volume up button. Press and release the volume down button. Press and hold the side button until the screen turns off and then turns back on. You can release the side button when the Apple logo appears.
  • Log out and then log in iCloud. Go to Settings > Your account, log out of your iCloud account and then login your iCloud.
  • Reset Networks. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Thanks for your reply..

Fixed it yesterday... Not sure even what happened. Went to my local apple store and they were baffled as well... We all brain stormed and the other day all mu icloud contacts were duplicated not sure why... then we edited my wife's contact then saved it then edited it again and for some reason all the air drops came in at once they we tried to send all day.. and it started working again ! Very odd but its working now!

I've found airdrop to be extremely slow in finding a nearby iPhone (my other iPhone in my other hand)- that I've given up on it. Often it can't find it at all and they're inches away from each other. It has never been reliable. It's much faster to just send whatever via iMessage

Message would allow as many photos as airdrop will! Got mine working now and its fast and stable!
