Maybe i'm late to the aha airdrop moment, but after figuring out how to maximize my airdrop i am getting extremely fast speeds transferring work from my rmb to my mbp. I have been transferring 5GB files in a couple of minutes, getting speeds up to 80MB/s. (Just as fast as copying from SD card).

Incase anyone else is late to the airdrop boat - what I found very helpful was disconnecting from the internet/router. A little trick - hold down the option key and then click your wifi symbol in the top right of the screen. When networks are listed, while holding option it gives you the option to "disconnect from network" - do this on both machines and you will see very fast transfer speeds eliminating the need for any cables. I transferred 40GB yesterday in under 10 minutes.

Hope this helps (if anyone else out there hadn't already discovered this)

I'm late to the airdrop scene and it transferred my powerpoint presentation so quickly, I didn't even realize it had started yet.

Thanks for the tip.
