airdrop not showing in finder? macbook pro 2013 retina....

airdrop doesnt seem to be showing in my finder? how can i bring it up on the side panel

also i have a ipad mini 2 retina and it seems to have airdrop configured on and on and when i manually find the airdrop on the macbook, and 'everyone' is selected as contacts, it doesnt find it..



i have to open finder and select 'go' from the toolbar to see the airdrop shortcut...

Open Finder Preferences from the menubar - go to the Sidebar tab - check the Airdrop box. It will then show in the Finder sidebar.
