AirDrop not working as expected

I have an iPhone 6, Mini iPad 3 and iPad 6 (all iOS 11.3) and AirDrop works seemlessly between them. I have a MacBook running Sierra 10.12.6 (which I'm an Admin on) and I cannot get AirDrop to work. All devices are within a few feet of each other. All have Wifi and Bluetooth turned on and 'Airplane mode' and 'Do not disturb' turned off.

Finder shows the AirDrop screen as this:

How do I get the AirDrop options to choose 'Everyone' in Sierra's Finder's AirDrop screen? I've tried Google suggestions and innumerable restarts of all devices to no avail.

macOS newbie... so please be gentle.
