I have never used Airdrop because my old Mac didn't support it, though I am upgrading. Is there any reason to use a USB3 flash drive to transfer files between 2 Macs if you can use Airdrop? Is Airdrop easy to use? fast? does it consistently work?

Thanks.

It works pretty well in my experience and if you have a fast enough wireless network is plenty fast. If your files are rather large then USB 3.0 is likely to be quicker but for small transfers Airdrop is fine.
