Personally I would rather see Apple use vapor chamber cooling. Passive cooling on the Air line is best. If you really need the performance a fan offers then the 14"MBP is probably a better choice.

Part of what makes the air a great laptop is the fact you don't have to worry about covering vents while using it.

It is cool to see what a difference an active cooling system would work like. I have also seen tests with a laptop cooler and the bottom plate taken off and a fan added and it made a difference. It wasn't as huge as people might think.

That is why I think if just a good passive cooling system was used it would keep the battery life, utility of no fans, and boost performance to a much better level and still giving an edge to the fan Pro models which I am sure Apple wants.
