Airmouse for Gaming?

I searched the forums and did not find this question asked. On Windows XP, would this app work at all for playing games on the couch while the laptop is hooked up to the HD TV? I know you are asking why would you want to do this, but my BT Keyboard and Mouse does not work well from sitting further back at the coach, and I thought it would be cool to use the buttons on the screen to shoot while moving the iphone like a Wii to move directionally. I thought I would ask before purchasing this app. Thanks.
