I have a S7 watch on watchOS 9 and a 14 Pro on iOS 16.0.2. When I turn on airplane mode mirroring as follows:
  • In the Watch app on the phone, go into settings > general > airplane mode and toggle “mirror iPhone” on
then try turning on airplane mode on the phone to see if it is mirrored to the watch it doesn’t work (discovered that when flying yesterday). If I turn airplane mode on/off on the watch it mirrors to the phone, but if I turn it on/off on the phone it doesn’t mirror from the phone to the watch. Have reported it as a bug to Apple but be interested to know if it’s a general problem or just me…

Yes, it seems to be a bug. I can confirm that I'm experiencing the same issue. The Airplane Mode mirrors from the watch to the phone, but not the other way round. I'm also on iOS 16 and watchOS 9.

Thanks, as noted above have reported it so I guess it's just wait for a fix. 👍
