I'm not sure if this is what was supposed to happen, but after I upgraded my 2nd gen ipod touch, which is not jail-broken to the 4.0 software, I was looking through what's new, and I went to the settings, and saw this:
IMG_0092.png

Is this normal for a 2nd gen ipod touch, or did I do something wrong? I downloaded my 4.0 software from this link:
http://gumballtech.com/2010/06/07/download-ios4iphone-os-4-0-gm-here-itunes-9-2-beta-included/
Any help is appreciated. I made sure that I downloaded the software that I download was for my specific device (iPod2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore).

Yeah I noticed my install of 4.0 has this as well. Not entirely sure why, all it will do on the touch is disable Wi Fi (which you can turn back on while Airplane Mode is active anyway).

Where did you download your software from? I'm just worried that I may have messed up my ipod.

the iOs may have been a iPhone update

The name of the ipsw file I downloaded was:
iPod2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore

Also, when Apple verifies the software with their severs, wouldn't they have caught a mistake like this?

You can't install iPhone software on an iPod touch. You're using the correct software.

i cant seem to set my home screen wallpaper?? is that one of the features that 2nd gen iPod touches can't have? i hope it isnt :(

Yeah, unfortunately, you can't set a home screen wallpaper on the 2nd gen. Something to do with the processor.

Because it also disables the bluetooth. So with one button you can turn off both WIFI and bluetooth.

Do Apple designers think iPod touch owners are jumping on planes everyday? Replacing WiFi (which probably does get used often, especially if wandering around) with Airplane Mode as the FIRST item in the list?

Is there some way to hide it or move it down? If not, poor design choice.

I was wondering what airplanes have wifi on them anyway? Not any that I have been on. Unless its to stop the iPod from sending signals? Like.. trying to find wifi? No idea..
