Airplane mode - only disable GSM?

with more and more airline carriers offering inflight wifi service, what do you think the likelihood is for Apple to modify "Airplane" mode to only disable the GSM radio?

There is no need to do so, since you can always set it to airplane mode and then turn on wifi. It is an extra step, but it is easy to do.
