So finally got to use my AVP on a flight. It was Southwest so a need for inflight entertainment is a must!

I may have looked goofy with my AVP on but this was a game changer. Was able to immerse myself in the environments, watch a movie on a giant screen. I couldn’t fly without it going forward.

I did put it in travel mode before the flight. I also downloaded movies onto it so I wouldn’t rely on WiFi.

Had to take it off for a second after about 45 mins just to give my head a break but really no big issue with it.

If you want any inflight service, best to take it off because the flight attendants don’t realize you can see them if you’ve got full pass through on and talking to someone wearing it is going to be just awkward. 😅

Sounds like a great experience! I remember when the AirPods came out and I said they look like dangling ear rings so I’d never wear them. That quickly went away. I think taking it off to talk to the flight attendant is probably the polite thing to do just as you would with headphones.

Thanks for sharing!

Glad it worked out well for you. Downloading content to avoid the need for Wi-Fi makes sense, but did you have power at your seat? AFAIK, Southwest is just rolling this out on its fleet. Not an issue if you're in the air 2 hours or less, but I'd want to plug in my AVP for longer flights.

Was a short flight so battery wasn’t an issue, but I’ve got a battery pack that can charge the AVP two times. I usually fly delta which has outlets on most of their planes.
