I've a 2011 BMW 7 series and every time I'm in the car, or go into the car for something it seems to active music and it auto plays. Even though I've not selected music playback off my phone.

There's nothing in the cars iDrive settings that I can change and can't see anything in settings on my 13 Pro Max that I can change

Can anyone advise me how to stop this, if I can?

If you figure out the right way to "fully stop" music with CarPlay, please share.

I just noticed what sounds like a variation of the same thing on a road trip using wired CarPlay in a Honda. Every time I plugged the phone in and brought up CarPlay, it would resume playing music from wherever it last stopped, regardless of what I did to stop it the last time I was in the car.

If I hit the audio system "power button", it stops the music playing (basically the same as hitting pause), but unlike when using "regular" Bluetooth audio (where the audio will stay off if you restart the car until manually turned back on), every time I'd power on the car CarPlay would apparently assume I wanted to start playing music again. It was pretty annoying when I specifically didn't want music playing, and there's no "stop" button in the music app, just pause.
