I have an Airport Express connected to a Raspberry Pi running PiHole and to a speaker. This allows me to run a network ad blocker, provide airplay functionality to my speaker and extends my WiFi.

Is it possible to set up internet sharing on the mac similarly to an Airport’s bridge mode? Giving the mac’s wifi broadcast the same id as my home network just confuses the clients, it appears to behave like a separate network rather than an extension of the existing one.

macOS WiFi can be used to receive (i.e. connect to WiFi network) or broadcast (i.e. create WiFi network) but not both at the same time. When Internet Sharing is sharing using WiFi, bridge mode not supported; have to create new WiFi network. Recommend name network different from existing WiFi network.
