Airplay and music streaming

Thinking about getting an apple tv and I'm wondering if I can stream music through apple tv + connected speakers from an iPad via airplay whilst simultaneously watching a youtube video with the audio from youtube coming through the iPad speakers?

I think sonos is able to do this but I get the impression that it is more complicated with airplay if possible...

You can't on iPad, but you can on a Mac.

Thank you for the reply. Something apple should look into - would be nice to have that functionality.
