I just set up my home stereo for Airplay, so far so good. However, SMS alert tines are played over the Airplay system as well, which is a bit annoying :(. Is there a way to get round this, i.e. music over Airplay, alert tones over iPhone's speakers only?

Thanks,

Dave.

iPhone has 2 volumes 'ringer' and 'media'

when no media is playing and you adjust the volume you'll see 'ringer' above the volume bar. when media is playing or when an app switches the audio from ringer to media (and this might be outside of audio actually playing back) the volume will adjust the level of the music / video etc.

so if you want to kill text/ringer sounds just lower the volume of 'ringer' to zero, and the crank it up once media is playing back.

oh and you prolly noticed media volume has a speaker vol and headset vol too.

peace!
