Here's my setup: 2 2.4Ghz routers daisy chained together one foot apart and using different channels, the main one is a budget buffalo wireless n router with stock firmware and the other one is 2007 Linksys router with Tomato Firmware on it. I have 4 Airport Expresses (2008 version) and a Mac Mini running OSX 10.5 that I'm using solely as an airplay music station connected via wifi to my Linksys router. The mac mini sits right on top of the Linksys router and the airport expresses are no further than 30 feet away from the router (with a wall in between in some cases). The setup plays perfectly if I am doing absolutely nothing else on the network; however, as soon as I use my main computer to do any web surfing (gmail, google, whatever) while connected to the buffalo router, the Airplay music intermittently starts cutting out for a few seconds at a time.
Are there any suggestion on how I can keep the drop outs from happening? I find it wierd that although I am trying to keep the wifi systems seperate, one is affecting the other. Perhaps the fact that my routers are so close together (and next to my airplay music station) is causing interference?
