I’m wondering if it’s possible to airplay audio from my Mac to multiple airplay speakers (one HomePod and a bookshelf speaker that I’m connecting a airport express to). I’m not asking about airplaying iTunes music, as I know it’s possible to select multiple outputs there, but I’m asking about airplaying the audio from streaming video in Safari, through the audio output selection from the menu bar. If MacOS can’t handle this, is this something that Airfoil can do? I purchased an inexpensive projector and I’m trying to send the audio to multiple airplay speakers in the room.

airfoil should do it, but the airport express is not airplay2, so there will be a couple second delay on audio so it won't line up with the video on your screen.
not sure if airfoil will have the delay if only sending to the HomePod. I haven't really used airfoil since airplay2 became a thing.

You can try airfoil without purchasing, it has a time-limited trial, and lets you stream for a few minutes every time you start the app.

2nd gen (2012 iirc) expresses received an update over a year ago enabling airplay 2 and home app functionality
