Last night, I re-hacked (rather, updated) my old Apple TV to include Remote HD and such.

I didn't/don't have my iPad handy, so I couldn't test it out to see if it worked (I imagine it does, but...), so I wanted to see if I could beam stuff over AirPlay from iTunes on my MacBook Pro.

I couldn't.

I saw the source for my old Apple TV as an AirPlay device, so that worked fine, and I selected it, but upon doing so and playing the video, I'd get the message on my Apple TV telling me to download the app to my iOS device.
Of course, my Macbook Pro is not an iOS device.
Nonetheless, I downloaded the Remote HD Remote Helper program from remotehd.com (or wherever, I forgot) and ran that. Still, no dice.

Is it even possible to beam videos from my Macbook Pro to my (hacked) old Apple TV over AirPlay?
