General Airplay sound from a regular TV

Hi

I couldn't find anything about this, please help me if you do.

I want to airplay my TV-sound to my speakers. I don't know how to do this but I got this ide. I have a jailbroken iPhone laying around and I thought I might could get the sound out of the TV via an AUX, or something, and into my phone. Then use my phone to airplay it to my speakers. Anyone now if this is possible and how the make it happen?

Why not just hook the tv up to the speakers directly? You may see some lag if you ever get your idea off the ground.
