I have five Sonos speakers at home and some Apple devices that usually play to one or more of them. Almost always the same speaker(s) from the same device and almost never interfering speakers.

Example:
The Apple TV is set to play to the Livingroom speakers (one combination consisting of two Sonos One and one Sonos Sub).
The Kitchen iPad is set to play to the Kitchen Speaker (one Sonos One).
The Office Mac (my primary Mac, a MBP) is set to the play to the 2 Office speakers (one Sonos One and one Sonos Move).

Problem:
- If the kitchen iPad hasn't been playing music for a while (appr 10 min), I have to choose the speaker again when I want to play music.
- The ATV also forgets the speaker systems, but not as often.
- My MBP remembers the speakers, the Music app seems to remember this in its setting.
- If I play music from something else, eg my iPhone, it always forgets the latest speaker if I pause it for a couple of minutes.

The need to re-connect to the speakers is a huge PITA! I don't understand how this can be accepted by Apple!? I would like a solution where I say to the device "Play the music on this speaker no matter what happens, until I choose something else manually. Capice?"

Is there a solution or have Apple failed us?
