When iOS 4.2 is released in November and AirPlay is made available, will users be able to stream music from iTunes to an iPod touch? Simplify Media was a great app for the iPhone/iPod touch that got bought out by Google and nothing has quite replaced it.

I was able to build a 100-song Genius list on my home PC in iTunes and stream it to my iPod touch outside for continuous music playblack. Not to mention, anywhere I had WiFi (i.e. at work), I could listen to anything on my home collection.

I am hoping AirPlay will bring this type of functionality and flexibility back to the iPod touch.

I don't think it will work outside of your local network. Everything that I have read about AirPlay indicates that it is only for your local network.

But will it at least broadcast to my iPod touch within my home network?
