It seems that Apple has ceased selling the Lightning to 3.5mm audio cable, only offering the USB-C version to allow AirPod Max units to make use of wired connections.

Does anyone know of a source for the Apple official cable that may still have some, like a reseller somewhere?

Unfortunately, a simple Lightning to 3.5mm cable won't work, as the use I have requires the cable to be sending audio FROM 3.5mm TO the Lightning port on the AirPod Max. Most cables only work in the other direction, allowing something like a Lightning iPhone/iPad to send audio to an audio device with a 3.5mm input.

I have an AirFly Pro, and that works, but, introduces Bluetooth latency that for my specific use case I'd like to eliminate.

Thank you for any suggestions!

There is no source since the one manufacturer stopped making them. You could look for used on the marketplace here or facebook but I suspect you would pay a premium.

One suggestion would be buy the USB-C version and a USB-C to Lightning adapter. It might be worth a try.
