Had v3.0 Airpods for years, loved them, no issues at all. Then the 4 came out, opted for the ANC version and have had nothing but trouble with them. Left bud volume issues, popping/bass/buzzing, were replaced by Apple via warranty, now the replacement also has the same issue. If I turn off ANC, they are better but still have issues intermittently.
Is anyone else having trouble?
Gonna log a new warranty replacement, get the new one and then sell them/go back to v3.0

I am having the same issue with the ANC or transparency mode in Airpods 4. In my case, the issue is always consistently with the right bud.

I have bothered apple support several times, and they have changed first only the right bud, then again both as the issue represented itself. Unfortunately, even after both changes, the issue persist - the technician told me that most likely the solution will come in the form of a new firmware.

I use the airpods with an iPhone 15 pro and a MacBook from 2019 - the latter recently started presenting audio problem which I managed to fix by resetting the NVRAM. I have no idea if there is any correlation with the Airpods issues, but I just though to share all of the above in case you also happen to have some similar setup.

I have this weird impression that the crackling issues start when I paired them with the macbook, but I could not manage to factory reset back to normalcy in any way.
