Update December 5, 8:37 pm: Amazon has dropped the price of AirPods 4 with ANC even further to $139.00, by far the best pricing we've ever seen on this model. Original article follows below.

Amazon has Apple's AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation for $164.99, down from $179.00. This is one of the rare Black Friday deals that has stuck around this week, and right now we're only tracking the sale on Amazon.

This is also an all-time low price on the new AirPods 4 with ANC. The AirPods 4 also feature a redesigned earbud for increased comfort, the H2 chip for improved audio performance, up to 30 hours of battery life, and an IP54 rating for dust, water, and sweat resistance.

I'm still not interested. The AirPods 4 when ANC is turned on uses way too much battery power per charge. And it lacks the natural partial noise blocking of a true in-ear monitor (IEM design) of the Apple AirPods Pro, Beats Fit Pro, Beats Studio Buds+ and Beats Solo Pro.

I still can't understand why Air Pod Pro 2 are being so deeply discounted everywherenwhile AirPods 4 ANC are never discounted to any great extent. I had purchased AirPods 4 ANC on release only to have to return them when the AirPod Pro 2 began selling for same price on Amazon within a few days. I actually like the AirPod 4 ANC over the AirPod Pro 2 but it made no sense to keep them.

Because AirPods Pro 2 are over 2 years old at this point and only received a minor USB C refresh over a year ago.

Still waiting to see when they support lossless audio outside of being used with AVP. There is also that heart monitor rumor regarding AirPod Pro 3rd gen when released.

Understood but they're still superior to the AirPod 4 ANC model aren't they?
Its Open-style earbuds (AirPod 4 ANC) compared to sealed In-Canal (AirPod Pro 2)
The Pro 2 are Up to 2x more Active Noise Cancellation then AirPod 4 ANC.
Also the Pro 2 offer Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection functionality.
Slightly more usage life 5 hours with AirPod 4 ANC vs 6 hours AirPod Pro 2.

That's exactly why I don't understand the lack of price differential after discounting.

I was on Amazon and saw AirPods 4 for $119 and thought I found an even better deal than was originally posted. Just before hopping over there to post, I realized that Apple offers AirPods 4 "Without Active Noise Cancellation" - hence the $120 price point.

Real question for the forum: why would anyone in the market for AirPods today, buy AirPods 4 for $165 when AirPods Pro 2 can be had for $5 more? I know the AiPods 4s are newer, but the specs/features on the Pros are better. What gives?

If I hadn't misplaced my AirPods, I wouldn't have bought the AirPod Pros I ordered a couple days ago for 150-something.

I hope I didn't make a mistake. But they were cheaper than the regular AirPods. I'm really hoping they're not uncomfortable.

(If I'd misplaced them at home, I'd just keep looking. But I misplaced them at a friend's house 600 miles away.)

Different shape - shaped like normal wired Apple headphones.

I'm REALLY hoping I didn't make a mistake ordering the Pros.

Not having to jam them in your ear canal is an advantage. Battery life seems like a small thing compared to that. But the discount on the AirPod Pros was too much to pass up.

If I hate the AirPod Pros too much I guess I can send them back. I'll know in a week or so.

Good to see discount on the new AirPods 4. But the AirPods Pro 2 deal recently available was the best offer. Better to get AirPods Pro if it is in similar price range.

I’ve had both and find the Pros MUCH more comfortable to wear for long periods. I guess everyone’s ears are different, but to me it’s a major advantage of the Pros.

That's barely less than the usual discount price on amazon.

But I got them over the Airpods Pro 2 at a steeper discount because fitting comfortably in my ears is the most important metric over any other feature. I personally can't do tips in my ears.

So far (only had them for about a week) I'm glad I took a chance. I have pretty small ears and I was worried they wouldn't fit but they do! And the noise cancelling is good enough for use on a plane.

Sam's Club will have the AirPods 4 with ANC for $139 according to their email. Deal starts tomorrow at 9am EST for Plus members and 9pm EST for others.

To this day the AirPods 2 still stay in my ears better than any of these. I now have both the 2's and the Pro 2's. My ears get tired of the Pro 2's after awhile (the seal), but they obviously sound incredible - but they don't stay in well (tried different tips). I tried the 3's and 4's and those don't sit well either. So a lot of times (especially when jogging) I stick with my old 2's. 🤷‍♂️
