Black Friday deals on AirPods are in full swing today, and Amazon is now discounting the previous-generation AirPods 2 to an all-time low price of $79.00, down from $129.00. Shoppers should note that the AirPods 2 earbuds are seeing shipping estimates slipping into December, so be sure to order soon if you're interested.

Was thinking the same thing $79 for someone’s first pair of wireless headphones is an awesome deal.
Or second pair after losing their first!

My wife just lost her AirPods. Find My is absolutely useless on these unless they happen to fall out of your ears while wearing them, then it will actually play a sound.

Edit: she wants to look once more for her AirPods but I snagged the $75 4-pk of AirTags for whenever she finds/replaces them.

My second gen are three years old years old now, and the battery is still fine enough… but the right AirPod has been crap slow connecting and a quarter of the time doesn’t connect at all and I have to put back in case and try again.

Also the right doesn’t pick up voice anymore it hasn’t for about a year or two now.

If I wasn’t getting such poor performance out of the right one I would consider getting a new pair… but I don’t trust this tech anymore. I’m hoping to get a Pro 2 for Christmas. Maybe it won’t have these issues.

Hopefully.

I just went grocery shopping and I’m betting Black Friday is gonna be red. inflation is BAD.

$69 from Walmart with one of the following promo codes

DISCOVER
PAYPAL10
WOWFRESH

If none of the promo codes work, you can either create a new Walmart account or do what worked for me which is add over $50 worth of groceries for pick-up/delivery, enter a promo code, and when it takes $10 off, go back to edit cart and remove all grocery items. The $10 discount should still be reflected in the cart for the Airpods

Thanks for the info, 10 dollar coupon worked! I wonder if these will come out with H2 chip

That’s a nice deal. I love mine. I tried AirPods Pro 2 but they hurt my ears so badly. I can wear these for hours with no problem.

Thanks for sharing this. I went ahead and got them to replace my wife’s pair. The DISCOVER code worked, did not try the others. If she finds hers this week I’ll return them but $69 plus tax seemed like a price to lock in while I could. Much appreciated.

$69 would normally only get you the case or one replacement AirPod from Apple.

While I agree with the overpriced part, the curious thing about Apple is that it’s product experience is usually greater than the sum of its parts. When you get the iPhone, you compare it w/ another device that has twice the RAM, a more recently refreshed design, & better camera specs.

Then 1 year in you spot a decent deal on AirPods from a few years ago. Cool. They are convenient & sounds ok. Then half a year later you pick up an Apple Watch SE & end up leaving the phone behind at the gym and no longer need to pull your wallet out at the grocery store or on the train to pay. You find the Watch seems to be extend the battery life of the phone by taking up some of its duties such as music streaming, notifications & payment functions.

Instead of just 2 years you find your phone still feels kinda new after 3. Then you realize you can replace the battery at 3.5 years and the software is still being updated and your usage hasn’t changed much so you’re content but at 4 years you decide the latest iPhone is worth that single new headline feature they added so you upgrade your phone with an awesome trade-in discount and all your other devices are still working and transfer to the new phone.

When you average out the price per year, Apple isn’t all that overpriced. They also make devices that use mostly durable materials and that are always in demand so resale and trade-in value can be high for longer than others. Once you’re in the ecosystem, the benefits unlock.

They seem to only expect users to upgrade one device at a time over multiple years once your in. At some point you may want to upgrade everything at once but that’s probably rare unless you’re wealthy or a reviewer.

My wife found her AirPods. I cancelled the Walmart order and eagerly await the AirTags to attach to her headphones. Arriving December 1st.

Is it worth upgrading to these from Powerbeats³ Wireless? I have had them since late 2018. They work fine but the wire between the two ear pieces can be annoying when at the gym.
