Most of the discussions here seems related to problems switching for phone calls. My problem is different.
Another user in a discussion here discovered his AirPod Pro 2nd were fake. Could mine be fake too ? or is this the normal operation for them.

I have Airpods 2 (non pro) and an old iphone and old ipads which I'm guessing don't have the easy fancy pairing, and I always used the Airpods with my android phone. First of all I think I'm missing something, or I misunderstand what's so special about the - quoting: "the seamless connectivity of your favorite Apple earbuds automatically pairing with your iPhone, iPad and other Apple ID ecosystem gear"

I seem to remember Apple Airpods even have a special chip inside dedicated to that.
But my Jabra headphones seem to do the same thing. As soon as I open the case, the Jabra are instantly connected to my android. Same with my Airpods and Android.

But now I bought an Ipad Pro with m1, and the Airpods are paired. And indeed as soon as I open the Airpods case I get that animation and graphic on ipad display showing me the battery percentage. But if I used the Airpods previously with my Android - the Airpods will not connect to my ipad. I have to go to the Bluetooth settings in ipad and click on the airpods name. This is exactly the same as with android headphones and android ecosystem.
So what is special about the famous seamless Apple connectivity ? I think i'm missing something, or my Airpods might be fake.
And now I wanna buy the Apple Airpods Pro 2nd Gen, so I really wanna understand this.

And if the Android is exactly the same, why I'm constantly seeing Apple users praising this Apple easy Bluetooth connection ?

If you're expecting it to pair seamlessly with both Apple and non-Apple devices, it won't.

- You need an all-Apple roster of devices running a minimum of iOS 10 / iPadOS 13.
- You must be signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices.

It's really not hard to figure out since it's on Apple's website when you ask this very question
