AirPods continue to have a 6-week shipping estimate when purchased through Apple's online store, but AT&T and Verizon currently have the wireless earphones in stock online with free delivery in 2-5 business days.

AT&T and Verizon sell AirPods for $159, the same price as Apple charges, but the carriers only ship to addresses within the United States, excluding P.O. boxes.

AirPods occasionally appear in stock through Apple resellers, but typically not for very long due to a combination of limited supplies and strong demand. For that reason, prospective buyers should order as quickly as possible.

AirPods, driven by Apple's custom W1 chip for one-tap setup, instantly connect to a nearby iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac when taken out of their charging case. The cord-free earphones use optical sensors and a motion accelerometer to detect when they are in your ears and automatically turn on.

Double tapping an AirPod invokes Siri by default, which can be used to adjust the volume, change the song, make a call, or get directions.

AirPods deliver up to five hours of listening time on one charge, and a 15-minute fast charge provides up to three hours of listening time. The charging case holds multiple additional charges for more than 24 hours of listening time.

Purchasing a second pair. The convenience when using the Airpods for fitness and for phone calls/music is ideal for me. And the battery life has been more than impressive.

(Side Note: The previous firmware update actually seems to have improved the treble and loudness of the Airpods. They sound better from when I first used them.)

Purchased third pair for backup from Verizon after second pair from ATT. Never too many to have. AirPods is absolutely the latest and most awesome Apple invention. Love it and obsessed about it as Apple loyalist.

Definitely looking forward to the increased array of options with iOS 11.

If you have a device on iOS 11 public beta and use your AirPods with them to create new configurations for each AirPod, then use them on an current iOS device, your AirPods' configurations are saved...just not visible!

Really like my airports but they aren’t suitable for my running style (lumbering oaf/giant) or doing jumping jacks. For everything else, they are great! Loving the iOS11 per AirPod confit that can be done now. Handy dandy.

I agree with that. I'm on the fence which ones I'd prefer as well.
FWIW I tried the Beats X and returned them because they fell off during certain exercises, like sits up and crunchies. The neck band is heavy and proved to be the undoing in the design for them to stay in place for a broad range of activities. For running they were fine or any other upright exercise I imagine they would be fine. I have a cheaper pair of corded BT earphones that work for exercising and while they don't have the pairing and control features of the Beats X, they do stay in place with no exceptions.

Not really in stock. Tried to order as soon as I saw this (about 20 minutes after posted) and got a strange error message. Tried all day, and then spoke to customer service who said they are not in stock and are on back order.

I'm surprised they're still selling out. These have been a well deserved hit. People at work ask me about mine and they don't usually care about tech stuff.

I managed to order some this morning (before this post came out) and I just got notified that they shipped and I'll be receiving them tomorrow. I ordered from verizon since my carrier's website (AT&T) kept giving me errors when I tried ordering.

Placed an order on June 6th with a July 26 receive by date. Thought I might get them early, but looks like you don't have to wait 6 weeks, you have to wait 7 weeks.

Am I the only one waiting for the 2nd gen of AirPods? The 1st gen AirPods are nice, but I feel like there are many areas it could have some improvement on including design, sound quality (1st gen AirPods essentially have about the same quality as wired EarPods, which is decent but not great), battery life and more.

I agree. I never expected them to be in short supply for this long. It actually makes me feel like it was worth it that I paid a scalper $200 for my pair six months ago.

I work for Verizon and get a company discount so I was happy to see that the "Add to cart" button was no longer "out of stock". It was like that for a while that I was about to give in and order them though Apple.

Just received mine! Charging them right now.. pretty excited to use them at work today. Amazing how it only took 24 hours to get them from Verizon and yet it takes six weeks to get them from Apple.

[doublepost=1500259145][/doublepost]Back out of stock at Verizon. I ordered a pair yesterday (Saturday morning) and they shipped same day. Deliver Tuesday. Checked again today and they are back out of stock.

Looks like AT&T still has some left.

I'm actually shocked that Verizon permits a discount given the inventory situation. Or that Apple allows it. I have the same 35% accessory discount from BCBSA, but it didn't apply to this product.
