Amazon today has Apple's AirPods Max headphones at a near all-time low price of $399.99, down from $549.00. The last time we tracked a deal this low was during Prime Day in July, and today's price is just about $5 higher compared to that sale.

You'll find all five colors of the AirPods Max on sale this time: Green, Pink, Silver, Sky Blue, and Space Gray. Prime members can get the headphones delivered between August 6 and 7, while regular shipping should have them arrive by August 10.

Besides the AirPods Max, Amazon also has all other models of the AirPods on sale. This includes the AirPods 2 for $79.99, down from $129.00; the AirPods 3 for $139.99, down from $169.00; and the AirPods Pro 2 for $189.99, down from $249.00. These are all solid second-best prices.

Impossible for me to justify even this price, considering Lightning vs USB-C and impressive offerings from the competition.

The painless bluetooth pairing to various Apple devices with the W1 or H1 chip (can't remember which the Max has) makes all the difference to me -- but I really want USB-C. I bought mine Used - like New for about $350ish, been very happy but there's room for refinement.

Why is lightening so important on a Bluetooth Headphones. Other than the possibilities of carrying an extra cable. My Bluetooth headphone's USB-C only used for charging. Charging needed not that often. I really could careless about what cable is needed.

These headphones were released in December of 2020. They sound great but are definitely not worth $399. $250 at best.
agree, but I would say 199-220 USD and no more, it has always been an incredibly overpriced product
And with better aesthetics (Bose 700 looks more like an Apple product), and a real case with included extras (even Beats Studio Pro is better in this regard).

I have those Bose, they are not good at all, I would actually look at the latest Sony TBH as something good to compare to.

You said it yourself. I don't want to have to carry or keep track of an extra cable for charging. Everything I use is now USB-C, so it does not make sense for me to invest in a pair of headphones with Lightning-- especially when there are rumors of a USB-C version (with additional rumored improvements) coming right around the corner.

EDIT: Also, I have a pair of AirPods Pro 2 already. Mayyyyybe the equation changes for me if I don't have those, but I would probably still hold out for AirPods Max 2 (or go with a competitor) if I absolutely needed something today. AirPods Max for me are something I'd like to have, but don't need, so I can wait for an update.

Many of us, millions have not upgraded to iPhone 15. So we are carrying a lightening cable. even when updating the iPhone, one cable will not deter me from purchasing any product that meets my needs at a good price point.

If you work with headphones on, or wear them for extended periods of time, then these are not for you. Way too heavy. Try the Bose Ultras instead. Best headphones on the market right now in my opinion.

100%. I had them once also, which ironically I had purchased form the Apple Store. Typical “no highs no lows” BlOSE sound quality, bad touch controls, and a lousy app. Luckily they bricked themselves during a FW update within 14 days of purchase, making them an easy return.

BUT I still think they out-Apple’d Apple on aesthetics, carrying case, and included extras.

Bose 700s with Apple controls + electronics + audio, at a Beats Studio Pro price, would be my perfect headphones. I’m currently wearing the Beats as replacement for my old Jabra 85h’s (which finally died after many years of use), and they’re … fine, I guess.

I've worn them for hours on end and have never had an issue with the weight 🤷‍♂️

So you think the max should cost less that the AirPod pros? That’s a unique perspective to say the least.
