AirPods Microphone Muted Often With Apple Watch

Am I the only one prone to this bug of my AirPods’s microphone not working when answering phone calls on my Apple Watch. The headphones themselves receive audio but the person on the other end hears nothing from me. My Beats Studio 3s work great with the microphone but the AirPods not so much. I’ve tried resetting them and nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?
