AirPods on an Xbox one X

Is it possible to use your AirPods on the Xbox one x?

I saw turtle beach now has a no adapter need wireless headset.

So I was wondering if you could use AirPods with it?

Does not look like it, there is no bluetooth option visible in settings...which is weird because the controller is a visible bluetooth device without a dongle (and I just tried it on an iMac).

Just tried pairing a set of bluetooth buds by placing them in pairing mode and pressing the controller connect button on the front of the xbox, no recognition on the buds or the x.
