Hi everyone! My AirPods Pro 2 stopped connecting to my phone. When I open the case, the white light first flashes, then it switches to orange and flashes continuously. When I try to reset them, the white light flashes for a second, then the orange light flashes continuously. The earbuds are almost two years old. Do you think the problem is with the case or the earbuds themselves?

That’s almost always point to a hardware problem with the charging case itself, not the earbuds.

Most likely the case battery is dead or degraded, or the charging circuitry has failed.

You can confirm this by putting your AirPods into another case (a friend’s or maybe one at an Apple Store.) if they work, your case is dead.

Tnanx, but as i know the case should go into reset mode even without headphones inside?

Yes, you can reset the case, as you said. The LED may flash amber (orange) a few times, then it should flash white. If it does not, this typically signals a firmware or connectivity error state where the case detects an issue but can't fully complete the reset cycle.

What to do? Start by charging the case fully (make sure the USB contacts and the inside contacts are clean).

Then:
  • Forget the AirPods on your iPhone.
  • Place both AirPods in the case (ensure they're seated. Close the lid for 30 seconds to resync them internally.
  • Open the lid.
  • Press and hold the setup button on the back for at least 15 seconds (don't release early—many users stop at 10, causing the loop you saw).
  • Expected sequence: Light flashes amber (orange) a few times, then transitions to flashing white. If it sticks on continuous orange, hold for up to 30 seconds and release—repeat 2-3 times.
  • Close the lid briefly, then reopen.
  • Re-pair to your phone. Bring the open case (with AirPods inside) near your unlocked iPhone.
