Today I went to listen to music with my Pro 2 AirPods (lightning) connected to my 15 pro max. Even though they showed up as connected to the phone all the audio was still playing through my iPhone speaker.
I put them back in the case for a few seconds then put them back on and they worked. Thought nothing of it but it happened again.
Reset the AirPods three times and the issue still persists. It seems that if I connect them with my iPhone screen off then the audio doesn’t switch from speakers to AirPods. If I connect them when the screen is on then they connect and work fine.
I just realised I could go to the audio “widget” in control centre to manually switch to AirPods if I connected with the screen off.
Anyone else having this issue? I thought it was because I dropped my AirPods a couple weeks ago but this issue only started today.
My iPhone is on 17.0.2 and AirPods are version 6A301.
I’ve only had these since June and I do have AppleCare. I’ll see how it goes and if there are no software updates or it doesn’t get fixed I’ll get Apple to replace them.
