Hello,

I just wanted to make sure of the following before I purchase the above airpods'

  • I can have my phone off and have the ANC enabled
    • For times when I fly and turn off my phone
  • Without having it connected to my phone, no audio playing what so ever, ANC enabled, is the battery life still good for say an eleven or twelve hour flight?
Thanks everyone. Want to make sure before I buy that I can use them without having to have my phone on.

Huh, no one answered?

Unfortunately, I have no idea if ANC works with the phone off, because I never turn my phone off.

Assuming ANC works with the phone off, I think it's highly unlikely that it'll last 11-12 hours without recharging. I get around 4-5 hours of audio listening time with ANC on. Just ANC without audio probably lasts longer, but I doubt it'll last double the time. You can pop the AirPods back in the case to recharge, though, and the case does hold enough charge to comfortably last 11-12 hours.

Another thing you might consider is whether you will find the AirPods comfortable to wear for the entire 11-12 hours. I know my ears get tired after the 4-5 hours they last on one charge, and I'm glad to break for the time they take to recharge to a 100%. I haven't measured that time exactly, but it's less than an hour.

Anyone...?
I'll be able to tell you on Saturday for sure (when I will actually be on a plane). My issue is that I am around so many Apple devices attached to my apple account that turning my phone off would just pair the AirPods Pro 2 with another one of my devices.

Awesome... Fingers crossed lol. Thank you for checking.

I was able to do it sooner. They work just fine, ANC can be switched with a squeeze, etc. (I thought that this was the case from previous flights with the very similar Beats Fit Pro but I wanted to check for sure.)

Thank you!!! I was hoping this was the case! Going to purchase a pair for myself and the wife in a few weeks. Wanted to make sure. Again, thank you!

... and I am home from my 2.5 week vacation after using APP2 on the plane. Honestly I prefer Adaptive mode to full noise control, as I was able to, for example, hear the flight attendants when they asked if I wanted a drink or a snack, etc.
