I'm moving to Apple ecosystem for the first time this year. I need earphones. I was thinking of buying AirPods Pro 2 on Black Friday discounts but I realized they are in mid product life cycle. When do you think they'll release the new ones?

I think it’s going to be a while before they are updated. If you need headphones buy them when hey are on sale as I’m sure the next gen is probably a year or more out.
There are rumors that the next one will be released late next year or in early 2025. I wouldn't wait if I was you, because you can resell them at a good price after
If they were going to update them soon I believe they would have done it when they announced the airpods max change as well as the 4s. They're still adding features to the 2nd pros. So overall Fall 2025 feels most likely. And as you know you can get them for $199 easily or maybe even lower (just saying don't buy on ebay though - too many fakes with fake serial numbers that even register on your phone). I would absolutely get them if you want the tips/better ANC
Waiting for the next “new and improved” is a never ending game that can never be won. Unless a product has been announced, buy what you need/want now. And don’t second guess the purchase. The stuff that is available now makes any upgrades incremental.
I am just deciding to go the AirPod Pros, I was in the Apple store last night to test them out with the noise canceling feature and feel in the ear. I had the first geration Air Pod Pros for a Hot minute but they did not fit in my ear at all so returned them. These fit so much better. I will say I was impressed and comparing the sound from my regular Airpods which I believe is generation 3 is much better with the Air Pod Pros2. So I was ready to pull the trigger to buy when the Apple Rep helping us pulled up on his phone to Best Buy website and said, go get them from Best Buy they have them on sale for $189.99 which is even cheaper than Costco which is $199.99. He said I am not on commission and I would rather people get a better price. So went home and ordered on line, Had plans for today so had Best Buy to deliver Monday with free delivery.
That was an interesting thing to do for an Apple person, especially in the store. Good for them. I hope his managers do not find out what he did for you.
He was really an interesting Knowledgeable Apple Rep, he said he had worked at this store for several years and he was part of the Set up Team on Thursday night, said he and his team worked till 4 am. So he did not work on Friday. One of the other Reps standing by him said..."I wondered why you were not hear yesterday Boss" So I basically took it he was a senior employee. He stated that none of the employees were paid on commission and he would rather customers be happy with Apple products.
I've been pretty pleased with Best Buy. There are 4 of their stores within 30 minutes - give or take - of our home.
agree. I saw it on sale on Amazon for $189 and costco for $199 (with apple care)
