Just hours ahead of Apple's special event, Best Buy has seemingly suggested that AirPods Pro 3 will be available to order starting today.

Best Buy's website is already offering My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members in the U.S. a $20 reward for AirPods Pro 3, before they are even announced by Apple. The offer will be valid starting September 9, which suggests the AirPods Pro 3 will be unveiled at Apple's event and made available to order immediately afterwards.

MacRumors has confirmed the offer page exists, after it was shared on Reddit. The page does not reveal any AirPods Pro 3 features or pricing information.

AirPods Pro 3 were already expected to debut today, and this serves as additional evidence.

AirPods Pro 3 are rumored to include a heart rate monitoring feature, which was already introduced on the Powerbeats Pro 2 earlier this year. Other expectations include design changes for an improved fit in the ear, and a smaller charging case.

Update: Apple announced AirPods Pro 3 are available to pre-order starting today.

Agreed, I buy AirPods for sound. Not for heart rate sensors, satellite connectivity or other weird stuff.
The AirPods Pro 2 were massive upgrades from the first gen imo, I'm afraid it's too soon to repeat that success.
It’s been 3 years since AirPods Pro 2, which came 3 years after the original AirPods Pro.

Really, they should be as big an upgrade - but all the last minute rumours disappointingly suggest otherwise. 😔

Probably going to be a day one upgrade for me because the battery in my charge case is not doing well. Got them at launch years ago but have since replaced the pods themselves under warranty, but the case is OG and seems like it has to be charged every other day now. So being able to improve that while shifting to USB-C is enough of an improvement for me to warrant the expense. YMMV.

I was planning to gift my APP2 to my son but he wanted AP4 with noise cancellation so I got them for him.

I have APP2 with 2 charging cases. One lightning port and the other USB C. I bought the second case only because I wanted all USB C. Both cases still hold a charge and look new. Might see them on Marketplace if I decide on APP3 today.

I guess this debunks the theory that Apple will continue calling these the AirPods Pro 2 and save “3” for the version with cameras next year. It looks like instead the model launched today will become the low end AirPods Pro similar to the two versions of the AirPods 4.

Not really sure how much you can upgrade them at this point. They already sound really good I guess some people want better ANC but that has it's limits as well. I'll personally hang on to my gen 2's until the batteries become useless so not upgrading no matter what is announced AirPod wise.

I appreciate your opinion, but I disagree with the statement “not sure how you can upgrade them at this point”.

History shows that major leaps in technology often come from developments nobody could have predicted. Declaring something as “good as it’s gonna get” is usually proven wrong with time. Albeit, with Apple post-Jobs, much slower than before.

I choose to believe technology will continue to improve, and features we can’t yet imagine will eventually become standard.

Improving sound quality will always have it's limits. At a certain point it becomes hard to discern a difference. But if you want features for them then fine I guess they can keep building that into them. Frankly, I just need them to play music and sound good.

APP2 sound really good and have very good ANC. Their sound quality and ANC were extremely competitive in 2023. But listen to the latest Bose, Sony, and others. They have better ANC and sound quality.

Apple is winning with features, transparency, and ability to "just work" and connect to my Apple devices (for the most part)

But Bose and Sony are winning the ANC and sound quality fight right now. And for most I think, comfort and fit as well. I was really hoping for something more competitive in these areas from Apple. We will see what is announced today

If Bose and Sony solved the connection issues, something standard bluetooth seems to be holding back, then I would switch in a heartbeat.

Would be awesome if they supported lossless audio but it won’t happen
