Hey everyone,
I just purchased the AirPods Pro 3 and tested them thoroughly against my previous AirPods Pro 2 for microphone voice call quality (by recording how my voice sounds at the other end of a Zoom call and asking many people how I sound and switching back and forth between APP3 and APP2, for both Zoom and regular phone calls), and in every noise environment they sound very similar in both my Zoom recordings and from the feedback of the people I was speaking to in Zoom and regular phone calls, with no noticeable improvement in this regard for the APP3 over the APP2.
While the new design of the APP3 does help improve both the ANC and sound quality, due in part to the new vents and hybrid eartips combined with software optimizations on the H2 chip itself, it seems to me that the new design did not help with improving the mic call quality, coupled with the fact that the same H2 chip is used on both the APP3 and APP2.
Also, since Apple themselves made no mention of improved voice call quality on the APP3 over the APP2 in either their Sept 9 Event or any of their marketing material, this in itself confirms my testing and hypothesis above.
Does anyone else who have both the APP3 and APP2, and have used them in Zoom and phone calls with others, also find that the microphone voice call quality is pretty much the same?
Thx!
