I have spent days troubleshooting this, so I finally need to reach out to y'all experts :)

I can't remember when this started happening, but when watching AppleTV content (not Music, YouTube, etc.), I am getting small audio drops every ~15-60 seconds. The video maintains, even with the audio momentarily "blips".

I noticed this first with my AirPods Pro USB-C. I tried my regular lightning AirPods Pro, and it still happens. I have several iPads/Macs/iPhones and have adjust their Bluetooth settings for the AirPods to connect only when last connected not "Automatically". So it shouldn't be the other devices + AirPods trying to ping each other.

My home network is robust. TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 access point about 8 feet away, 5Gbps internet. Speed tests are always >500Mbps.

I'm also experiencing really poor video quality on some of my AppleTV movie library. Many movies look like 480p with severe aliasing. This includes recent stuff like my 4K purchases of the newest Indiana Jones movie, and even the 3D version of "The Force Awakens". They're literally unwatchable! But IMAX stuff looks fine.

I've tried restarting the AVP, factory resetting the AirPods... nothing works.

My AirPods kept dropping off recently while on a plane. I had to turn off Bluetooth on my phone, and that solved the issue. Not a real fix as it shouldn’t be an issue though.

You turned off BT on your iPhone, and that helped with Vision Pro connectivity?

Well, if the AirPods are maintaining a connection to the iphone too, that might cause issues. Can you see if your AirPods are connected to your phone while also using them with your AVP?

They are not connected when using the VP.

Yes, after I shut off phone Bluetooth I had no more interruptions on the AVP. I’m guessing both devices were fighting for the connection.

Can you just disconnect the AirPods from iPhone so that you can leave Bluetooth on for maybe an Apple Watch or other device? I believe that’s less drastic than choosing to forget the device completely

If you connect AirPods to the VP, they’re no longer connected to your iPhone. If you “forget” them from your iPhone, I don’t think they’ll even connect to the VP. And if they did, they’d be “available” for iPhone connectivity as well. Putting you right back where you started.

Ah ok. I thought there was an option to disconnect but not forget.

Bluetooth can be weird. Right now, my AirPods Pro show as connected to my iPhone and my Mac Studio. They seem to work with whichever device I'm using at the moment as I switch back-and-forth during the day.
